Invited to a birthday dinner – any opportunity to go to the Banks AND celebrate a birthday, is a good one. Where to? Yard House.
However, parking was a BITCH. I can be a bit of a whiner, about parking. I realize that. But, we turned the same block about 20 times, to get to the entrance of the parking garage. I just wasn’t having it. Thank God that the husband was driving. I would have parked it on the sidewalk and called it a day.
Even though my friend called, to make a reservation, they insisted that they wouldn’t be busy at 4:45 – so, of course, we had to wait about 20 minutes, for a table.
But, there was this mesmerizing ceiling fan, in the lobby.
It’s the little things.
The inside was pretty – HUGE bar. 100 beers, on tap. I could never bartend there because I could never remember where anything was!
Nice view (I had to cut out some guy’s head…)
Let me start with the menu – it’s overwhelming. Like 30 pages. I’m not a fan of gigantor menus. My thought is…if you have that many things and variety, there’s no way that you can do it all, well. Plus, I have food ADD – if there are too many choices, my brain shorts out and I don’t want anything. We’ll see – I’ll tell you what I got, last.😉
I can show you some food porn, first, however. (and, since I only ate mine, can’t tell you what everyone thought of theirs!)
French Onion Soup
My bestie did say that she wished that there were more cheese!
BBQ Bacon Cheddar Burger
Chicken Rice Bowl
Porcini Crusted Halibut
THAT, was the husband’s and I did steal a bite. It was frickin’ good!
Street Tacos (MINE – could you guess?)
And, I took a pic of each taco that I got!
My rice and beans were horrible. I didn’t like the steak or the halibut – I gave those to the husband. The baja fish was the best but…not one of the best fish tacos ever.
Again – I’m not sure how everyone else felt about their food. My husband loved his and Mikey thought it was one of the best burgers that he’s ever eaten. So, it could have very well, just been me, that didn’t like the food. I’m picky like that and I realize it.
But, as always, I had the best company ever.🙂
